The Small Ballroom by Patrick Dougherty

  The amazing Small Ballroom installed at Fed Square, Melbourne, Australia by sculptor Patrick Dougherty.  Patrick’s creations can take up to 3 weeks to construct with the help of many volunteers.  This one was made of Willow, Patrick gained inspiration for the shape from the architecture of Flinders Street Station and St Paul’s Cathedral. Made solely from natural material, the sculptures will break down over time.  The structures that Patrick creates have a magical feel and viewers can interact with the installation.
